Terms of Service

Welcome to ressource.social. The service is operated as a sole proprietorship (auto-entreprise) registered in France. By accessing or using the service, you agree to the terms below.

Beta service

ressource.social is currently in free public beta and continues to improve throughout this phase; its features will therefore evolve. Accounts created during the beta retain, after the beta ends, the usage limits that apply to beta accounts on the date it ends (the "beta allowance"), including once paid plans are offered. The end of the beta, and any change to plans or usage limits, is announced in advance, before it takes effect. Your sources and their archives are kept for as long as your account is active, and a complete export of your data is available at all times from your settings. Availability of the service is provided on a reasonable-efforts basis, under the conditions set out in section 6.

2. Service

ressource.social is a social bookmarking platform that lets users save, organize, archive and share links — privately or with communities they belong to. The service is provided free of charge. If you wish, you may offer occasional financial support to the project — like buying us a coffee — via Stripe. This support is purely a tip: it does not unlock any feature, gives no contractual benefit, and is not a tax-deductible donation.

Because the contribution is consumed immediately upon payment, by paying you waive the 14-day right of withdrawal that normally applies to digital services under French consumer law.

3. Accounts

You are responsible for keeping your login credentials safe and for all activity occurring under your account. You may use the service only for lawful purposes. You must be at least 15 years old (the French digital majority age) to register.

4. Your content

You retain full ownership of the links, comments, and other content you save. By using the service, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to store, display, and process that content as strictly necessary to operate the service for you and the people you choose to share it with.

Your content stays yours to take. A complete export of your sources, folders, tags and page archives is available from your settings at any time, on every account and every plan.

5. Prohibited use

• Use the service for any illegal, infringing, or harmful activity
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the platform, other accounts, or its underlying infrastructure
• Abuse, harass, or threaten other users
• Scrape, mass-export, or resell platform data
• Distribute malware, illegal content, or content that infringes third-party rights

6. Availability

The service is provided "as is" and "as available". As a small independent project, occasional downtime, bugs, or feature changes may happen. We do not guarantee uninterrupted access, and we accept no liability for indirect damages resulting from use of the service.

Archives are meant to last. We do not expire or delete archived pages to reclaim space, and they remain available for as long as your account is active. That is a commitment about how we operate, not a warranty against accident — keep your own export of anything you cannot afford to lose (see section 4).

6 bis. Hosting provider status

ressource.social acts as a hosting provider within the meaning of article 6-I-2 of the French LCEN. Users are solely responsible for the content they publish on the platform (sources, comments, attached files). We will promptly remove any manifestly unlawful content brought to our attention through the reporting procedure described below.

6 ter. Reporting and moderation (DSA)

• Any content can be reported by email with the URL, the reason for the report, and the reporter's contact details.
• Reports are reviewed within a reasonable timeframe — in practice, within 7 days.
• Possible measures include content removal, warning, account suspension, or account deletion.
• Decisions may be challenged by replying to our notification email.

7. Termination

You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Data & account, or by emailing us. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. In that case, you will be notified by email with the reason, and you may contest the decision by reply.

8. Changes to the terms

These terms may evolve. The current version is always available at this URL with its effective date. Continued use after a change implies acceptance of the new terms.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by French law. Any dispute that cannot be settled amicably will fall under the jurisdiction of the competent French courts.
